Tips for Spring Cleaning your Bathroom

Now is the time to take back control of your bathroom with an efficient deep clean that will take little upkeep to maintain. Read on for a few new and interesting tips.

Work from Top to Bottom – To avoid finding hair or dust on the floor, always start with the highest points first. Dust your light fixtures and high shelves and work your way down to counter tops and finally the floor.

Use Heat to your Advantage – Heating your bathroom surfaces will make cleaning products more effective. Fill your bath with a few inches of very hot water and let it sit for 10 minutes before starting to clean. You can run the shower and splash hot water onto the surrounding tiles.

Let Cleaner Sit- Spray cleaner onto surfaces, spread it around and then let it sit. The chemicals (including natural solutions) will be much more effective if they’d had a chance to really do their job.

Rinse Thoroughly- Rinse off all surfaces carefully to remove the bathroom cleaner. This will take all particles of soil, dust and bacteria with it. Surfaces with residual cleaner left on them will just become sticky.

Dry the Bathroom- Take the time to dry all surfaces with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will help avoid marks from water or droplets. It also helps keep surfaces shiny.

Once you’ve got your bathroom as clean as you’d like it you can practice simple maintenance such as wiping down your tap and basin after each use.
