DYI – How to Make Eco Friendly Bathroom Cleaners

If you’d like to you can even try making a simple all purpose cleaner at home using ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen cupboards. Try buying the ingredients needed in bulk online, that way to won’t be tempted to buy less earth friendly products from the supermarket and your homemade cleaner will be even less expensive to make.

What you’ll need

  • Baking soda or powder
  • Vegetable oil-based liquid soap
  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Essential oils
  • Sea salt scours, disinfects
  • Water
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spray bottles

To create a cleaner that will remove the soap scum and dirt form your tiles and bath combine 1  cup baking soda with 1/2 cup  liquid soap with 1/2 cup water and 2 tablespoons vinegar. Mix well before each use by giving the jar or bottle you store it in a shake. Apply to the dirty areas and wipe away with a wet cloth when you’re done scrubbing. Adding in essential oils will not only add a natural sweet smell but oils like lemon, tea tree and lavender also disinfect.
