Patterned Tiles

It seems as though tradition will never go out of style and if you love classic design a wonderful way of introducing that in a big way is to install some beautiful tiles. Patterned tiles are extremely fashionable right now and they can totally transform a room into a timeless paradise. Using patterned tiles that feature traditional designs like floral or trellis patterns will bring in that glamorous old-fashioned style.

Fittings

Go for fittings that boast curves and soft edges, for an extra classic look choose a toilet with a dark wooden seat. Claw foot freestanding baths and cast iron radiators will add a touch of Victoriana to your bathroom. If understated traditional style is more your thing, opt for sanitary ware in clean white with touches of art deco style.

Extra Touches

Polished wood floors and sumptuous colours are typical in traditional bathrooms, you could even add in a patterned wool rug for extra elegance. Adding in a traditional heated towel rail and pretty accessories like vases of flowers, ceramic soap trays and fluffy towels will introduce warmth and homeliness.

Lighting

Lighting is a key area in any traditional bathroom. Wall mounted lightshades either side of a mirror will balance out the sink area beautifully and an ornate classic ceiling light will introduce glamour.

Textiles

Traditional bathrooms feature lots of soft textiles so make sure you bring in plenty of comfortable bathrobes, warm towels and even add floor to ceiling curtains in a heavy fabric. If curtains aren’t an option for your bathroom you can install a beautiful roman blind instead.
